Gold was first formulated in 1996 in collaboration with one of the world's
top canine nutritionists. The goal was to create a highly digestible, extremely
palatable food that would meet the needs of hard working dogs.
The food is packaged
in plain white, poly lined 50 lb. bags. Five of the first six ingredients
are meat based protein sources, 93% of the total protein in Caribou Creek
Gold is derived from highly digestible meat based sources.
U.S.D.A. inspected Poultry liver is the first ingredient, when dried the
liver would fit between beet pulp and blood meal on the ingredient list
and is about 7% of the total. This helps make it an extremely palatable
food as well as supplying many vitamins and minerals naturally.

Flaxseed and Menhaden Oil are our primary sources of Omega
3 fatty acids. The oils are sprayed on the pellets after they are extruded
to protect them from the high heat of the extrusion process. Omega 6 to
Omega 3 fatty acid ratio is an optimal 4 to 1.
Corn, Oat Flour and Brewers Rice provide a highly digestible source of carbohydrates.
Beet Pulp and Psyllium are our primary fiber sources which aid in digestion, many top Dog Trainers have found that Psyllium will help reduce stress diarrhea during heavy training and competition.
Our vitamins and minerals have been balanced with the hard working dog in mind.
